DRAM TREND IN 1995 According to a report from market research firm In-Stat, of Scottsdale, Ariz. worldwide total DRAM sales grew an average of 68% per year during 1990 - 1994 while personal computer production grew at an average rate of 24% per year. Amounts of DRAM memory shipped in each PC have increased, rising from an average of 2 Mbytes in 1991 to an industry forecasted 12 Mbytes in 1995. The higher memory content in PCs has been fueled by the greater memory requirements of newer microprocessors and by increasing operating system requirements. Communication and consumer products are using larger amounts of memory.
